Eureka (Days 2,3 & 4)We drove from Fort Bragg, CA along the coast, and then inland skirting the lost coast up to Eureka, CA. Our first night in Eureka was 4th of July so we watched the fireworks. The next day we went to Tall Trees Grove in Redwood National Park where some of the tallest trees in the world live. In the 1960's a National Geographic team found a tree 364 feet tall. It was then the tallest known tree in the world. Later a tree was found in Humboldt Redwood State Park that was 367 feet tall. Recently, a tree called Hyperion, 378 feet in height, was found not many miles from Tall Trees Grove. After visiting Tall Trees Grove we went and visited Fern Canyon,in Prairie Creek Redwood State Park. The following day we did laundry and then headed up towards Crescent City, CA.

Crescent City (Days 4 & 5)On our drive up to Crescent City, CA, we only took a brief stop at Del Norte Redwood State Park, to eat our supper. We then went on to Crescent City and hiked along the coast before nightfall. The next day we visited Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park, and the little light house in Crescent City. On our way back down to Ferndale, CA we stopped briefly for a short hike in Del Norte Redwood State Park, and then at Patrick's Point, to eat lunch. Beautiful
